Announcing Country Swing Learning Platform

Announcing Country Swing Learning Platform

Your New Home for Everything Country

I’m excited to officially announce the launch of CountrySwing.DallinKing.com. A new platform built for dancers, instructors, and anyone who loves the energy of country swing. This site brings together everything you need to learn, connect, and dance — all in one place.

What You’ll Find

  • Country Swing Moves: Explore a growing collection of moves, from beginner basics to advanced techniques — including slotted moves, stationary moves, transitions, lifts, and more. If you come across something new or missing, you can suggest it here.
  • Line Dances: Many line dances are played at country swing events — and they often go by different names. This library lets you search by song, artist, choreographer, and more. Future updates will make searches more region-specific, so you can easily find the versions of line dances done in your area.
  • Events: Discover workshops, competitions, and local socials happening in your community. These events help you put your new skills into practice and connect with others who share your passion. Over time, events will become archived posts that preserve the history of country swing — showcasing who won, what happened, and how each event unfolded. My plan is to go back through older events as well, documenting stories and milestones from across the community.
  • Venues: Once you’ve learned some moves, it’s time to find a place to dance! Explore venues near you that host regular socials and grow your skills further.

Why I Built It

When I first started dancing, I only knew a few moves. To learn more, I had to ask friends, attend socials, or hope to find someone who could teach me. It made improving my skills difficult — and finding tutorials for local line dances took hours.

Later, as I started teaching for BYU Country Swing and became an officer, I saw the same problem in others. People wanted to learn, but there wasn’t a central place to find moves, songs, or venues.

I explored sites like CopperKnob and Country Swing AZ, but they were difficult to navigate and often left me searching endlessly for what I needed. The information was scattered, and I knew there had to be a better way.

So, I built CountrySwing.DallinKing.com — a single platform where everything comes together. A place to find line dances, learn new moves, discover events, and explore venues — all in one clean, easy-to-use location.

Since launching, I’ve already seen friends use it to teach others and improve their own dancing. Now, I’m opening it up to you — a place for anyone to learn, grow, and share the joy of country swing.

A Growing Community

This is just the beginning. Over time, I’ll be adding:

  • Video tutorials (walkthroughs and demo videos)
  • Detailed line dance breakdowns
  • Venue and event partnerships to make finding places to dance even easier
  • Profiles or membership tools to help dancers connect and grow together
  • Venue memberships, so everything can be managed from one location — even subscriptions
  • A history archive preserving major country swing events
  • Online workshops focused on technique and dance fundamentals
  • And much more — guided by your feedback and community suggestions

Country swing isn’t just a dance — it’s a community. My goal is to help that community grow, connect, and keep improving — one spin, dip, and smile at a time.

Check it out now: CountrySwing.DallinKing.com. Whether you’re brand new or already out there every weekend, this site is built to help you learn more, dance more, and love it more.

See you on the dance floor! – Dallin King
