When Family Forgets the First Rule

When "Family Comes First" Really Means Pranks, Ripped Pants, and Spilled Secrets

It seems wrong that people would forget that family always comes first. In an ever-evolving world where technological advances happen nearly every day, it is a lifeless act to neglect the cherished phrase that we all hold close to our hearts: “family always comes first.” This sentiment resonates across cultures and generations, and forsaking one’s family is like unleashing a plague upon your neighbors or that of second-degree murder. An unforgettable transgression that leaves puzzled little children wondering who could commit such a heartless act.

Now, it isn’t my business to talk about what goes on between family members but imagine yourself in the middle of a play and the unthinkable happens. The pants your mother carelessly sowed last night decided that today was the day to abandon their duty. Moments of joy and wonder briskly turned into an outburst of laughter as the audience witnesses the pants unraveling. As you stand there on the stage, a whirlwind of thoughts consumes you, and the primary question on your mind is,” Where is my mother?” Instead of averting the incident in the first place, your mom finds humor in letting the school in on the secret that your pants seem to have a personal vendetta against you. Obviously, mom didn’t put family first.

Like the heartless family member that I won’t name, some people forget their family members by committing heinous acts that are other would call pranks. This simple should not be. Family members should understand that these acts of cruelty create an atmosphere worse than the Second World War. Its only intention is to cause retaliation from the opposing enemy lines, creating an endless battle of torment and forgetfulness. Obviously, they don’t put family first.

Additionally, a cherished secret needs to be kept safe, or a favor is needed. In these dire situations of potential horror and grief, these family members don’t come to the rescue. Now, I admit that might be a little exaggerated because they do come, but always with an art of deception. Prying the deepest of secrets from your soul, these disguised comrades create an act of warmth and love, but really are cold blooded killers. Once they have gotten the information, the grievous acts of vandalism start to appear for the world to see. A picture of secrets is painted upon the front of the house merely begging the world to know that you peed your pants as a kid. Obviously, these heartless killers don’t put family first.

Some, however, will refute that these acts of supposed love and compassion are what bring siblings closer together, but these people certainly haven’t experienced the dreaded attacks from the so called “allied forces.” If anyone experiences one day of the life of a kid, then they will soon realize that family must always come first. It is a pledge that people made when they decided to be born into a family. Therefore, it is not right to break that contract that they willfully signed at the time of their birth.

All in all, these presumed friends that others call family need to heal the wounds that they have caused by their bullets of pitiful forgetfulness. They need to cure the moments caused by lazy work. They need to rescue the helpless soul that remains stranded on the lonesome stage of embarrassment. They need to stop these reckless acts of war against fellow allies, and they need to stop the crud sharing of mysteries that fill the soul. These heartless killers need to reform and become better because obviously, they have forgotten that family always comes first.
